John 15:5 “I AM THE VINE, AND YOU ARE THE BRANCHES. IF YOU STAY JOINED TO ME, AND I STAY JOINED TO YOU, THEN YOU WILL PRODUCE LOTS OF FRUIT. BUT YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT ME.”
My wife Julie likes to give others potted plants. They flower longer and can continue to thrive with the proper care.
It’s always nice to receive a bunch of flowers on special occasions, especially when they’ve been freshly cut. But no matter how good they look when you receive them, they will die a few days later. So if you want to give something that will last a lot longer, a potted plant is a great idea.
Like the branches of a vine – we need to stay connected to Jesus if we are going to bear fruit and continue flourishing.
Disconnected from Him, we become like freshly cut flowers. We may look good for a little while, but eventually, we will stop bearing the fruit of the Spirit and start producing the acts of the flesh.
Would you consider yourself someone who is closely JOINED to Jesus? If you are, He said, “YOU WILL PRODUCE LOTS OF FRUIT.”
This life is meaningless without Jesus. He died on the cross to reconcile us to God. We, who were far away and separated from Him because of our sins, have been brought near by His precious blood. And He didn’t suffer so that we could remain separated from God. He did everything that He did so that we could live a life that is closely connected to Him.
If you want to make the most of this life and bear the maximum amount of fruit possible, then STAY JOINED to Jesus. He is the key to bearing LOTS OF FRUIT.
