30 June 2021 Apia Samoa. SSAB’s Book Character Day is an annual event that brings popular characters into life, as a fun way to promote literacy and reading amongst the people of Samoa especially children and youth.
An initiative of SSAB’s President and CEO Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai, it is a day where you will find all the staff of SSAB Megastore in Apia dressed up in their favorite book character, from superheroes to princess brides, warriors and villans, popular children’s book characters as well as various occupations such as doctors, police, musicians and sports players.
“Today, we wear costumes of our favorite book character in support of literacy and to showcase how “reading is the key to success”.
It was a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere at the megastore today with SSAB staff acting out their characters and enjoying the fantasy world of costumes.
“Reading can change your future. Leaders are readers. Knowledge is Power and Reading is fun!
