Samoa Qualifications Authority held a ceremony on Thursday, 18th May 2023 at the TATTE Convention Centre, to officially Welcome and Congratulated its new Board of Directors:
- Maria Talaitupu Kerslake (Chairperson),
- Jane Bentin – Fiti (Director),
- Leatuavao Lefe’au Ioane Malaki (Director)
- Fuimaono Pemerika Aleki (Director)
- Tu’u Fu’a Lafaiali’i Hazelman (Director)
The Chief Executive Officer Tupa’i Peter Peilua welcomed the new Board of Directors and Pastor Fu’aolealofa Sofara (Director, Worldwide Mission Training Centre) who led the ceremony with a prayer service. Pastor shared and reminded the Board and Management to lead as David did in Psalm 78: “So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them with his skillful hands.”
Special remarks were delivered by Madam Chairperson, Dr. Maria Talaitupu Kerslake and she acknowledged the government for their appointments, as well as the leadership and stewardship of the previous board of directors. The Chairperson also thanked the SQA Management and Staff for all the hard work over the years, and lastly acknowledged the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer, Tupa’i Peter Peilua and his experience from New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
Tupa’i closed the ceremony by acknowledging the services of his predecessors and vowed to serve to the best of his ability to lead SQA to success.
