Mon 10 August 2020, Apia Samoa.
A yellow dyna coming from the 4-corner lights at Malifa swerved off the road and crashed into the pedestrian crossing infront of the Samoa Adventist School this morning.
The driver of the dyna denied that he was speeding through the lights, and said he lost control of the vehicle.
“Ua sasi foi”.
He then got angry with Samoa Global News reporters, saying he has not given his consent to take photos of the truck and accident site.
“O lea e lei avatua sa’u faatagaga e pue ai ata na”.
Witnesses said the yellow truck was speeding through the Malifa lights and lost control as it approached the island where the crossing is.
Police were at the crash site and said they could not comment, as they were yet to investigate the cause of the accident.
