
27 August 2019, Apia Samoa. A Speech Forum was held yesterday as part of a National Campaign to End Violence, Stigma and Discrimination that runs from 25-30 August.
The Samoa Faafafine Association in collaboration with UNDP/Global Fund and the UNFPA Gender Based Violence Programme are participating through the contestants of this years Faafafine Pageant.
“Our 7 beautiful Contestants presented on topics pertaining to the theme, and delivered heart felt and passionate perspectives on their chosen topics;
“They spoke their truth and amplified their voices for the voiceless, the marginalized and the vulnerable – advocating to ENDING Violence Stigma and Discrimination in Samoa”.
“We acknowledge with much gratitude the Keynote Address delivered by UN Representative Tuliau Sara Faletoese Sua UNDP / Global Fund Program Coordinator emphasizing the UN principles and commitments to an inclusive world.
The initiative was part of the UNDP’s community engagements at the local level to realize the shared 2030 Agenda of Leaving No One Behind.
