Happy Friday Saints.
Ephesians 4:15 mentions “SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE.”
The English translation from the Greek doesn’t fully convey what the Greek word means.
The Greek word is “aletheuontes.” It means to speak truth, do truth and maintain truth.
Before we speak to others, we need to make sure that we are LIVING THE TRUTH OURSELVES. Without the lifestyle to back up what we are saying, we become hypocrites.
And as we saw on Tuesday, God wants us to deal with our own issues first and get the huge log out of our eyes before we start looking at the tiny speck in others. And when you overcome your own vices with the help of God, you won’t expose others’ weaknesses. Instead, you’ll use the lessons you discovered, to help them conquer theirs.
Love must be at the heart of everything we say and do. Gossip causes division and strife. True love doesn’t seek to tear people down and destroy their character.
1Corinthians 13:5 tells us that love “DOES NOT DISHONOUR OTHERS.”
Nothing dishonours people more than gossip! But the great news is, IT’S EASY TO QUIT. Just stop talking.
Ephesians 4:29 says “DO NOT LET ANY UNWHOLESOME TALK COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH, BUT ONLY WHAT IS HELPFUL FOR BUILDING OTHERS UP.”
If what you have to say about other brothers and sisters is not wholesome and good – don’t say it. Use your words to build others up! Leave the tearing down and causing strife to the devil.
Be kind and KEEP THE ROYAL LAW this weekend. Find someone to encourage and be blessed.
Love and prayers,
Warren
