Dual code rugby all star Sonny Bill Williams walks off with a first round knock out against AFL great Barry Hall.

SBW was able to dominate right from the opening seconds of the fight with multiple accurate shots.

After just 45 seconds Hall slowly collapsed, but no knock-out call was made as referee Les Fear said he didn’t see a punch. Hall appeared unsteady after this but was ready to continue fighting.

Within 40 seconds back on his feet, Hall fell back onto the canvas after taking a couple of Williams heavy shots.

Williams put an end to the contest seconds later after landing a powerful right hand, dropping Hall forcing the referee to end the one-sided match which lasted one minute 55 seconds.

This win for Williams boosts his boxing record to 9-0 while Hall drops to 0-1-1 (wins-losses-draws).

“There’s a reason why only one per cent of people do this type of stuff. So much respect for Barry and his team for coming in and doing this,” Williams said.

An inspiring Williams uses the opportunity to lay a foundation for the aspiring youth to reach their own dreams, “The glory is being able to propel the sport and help youngsters come through and reach their dreams”.

As previously mentioned by Williams in multiple interviews prior to his match up with Hall, SBW has his eyes set out on fighting former NRL great Paul Gallen who went up against barry hall back in 2019, to which the match resulted in a majority draw.
