Happy Tuesday Saints.

We ended yesterday with the thought of being an agent of peace and harmony.

Ephesians 4:2-3 says, “BE COMPLETELY HUMBLE AND GENTLE; BE PATIENT WITH ONE ANOTHER IN LOVE. MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO KEEP THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT THROUGH THE BOND OF PEACE.”

Some things are essential when it comes to peace and harmony.

The first is HUMILITY. When people are arrogant and unwilling to admit when they are wrong, there will be no hope for unity.

Nobody is perfect – we all make mistakes, and we all take turns missing the mark. The mercy that we want when we’ve messed up should be the same mercy that we demonstrate to others.

The next thing is GENTLENESS. We don’t have to be mean or insensitive to communicate our point. We don’t have to be condescending or disrespectful. These behaviours only cause more division and make people hostile towards one another.

Because everyone is imperfect and likely to make mistakes, we must also be PATIENT with one another. Give people time to learn from their mistakes, adjust and make improvements.

And finally, for there to be peace and harmony, everyone must MAKE EVERY EFFORT to protect and maintain unity. Too many expect their families, organisations, or groups to be united without making any effort.

It takes time and effort to communicate clearly, clear misunderstandings, deal with disagreements, admit wrongdoings, develop one heart, and cultivate a culture of working together.

It takes effort to eliminate gossip, backbiting and divisive chatter. But MAKING EVERY EFFORT TO KEEP THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT THROUGH THE BOND OF PEACE is the only way we can achieve God’s will TOGETHER AS ONE.

Have a fantastic day living in harmony with those around you.
God bless, and lots’a love,
Warren
