Seek the Lord who will Deliver You from All your Fears

Happy Tuesday Saints.

Psalm 34:4 “I SOUGHT THE LORD, AND HE ANSWERED ME, HE DELIVERED ME FROM ALL OF MY FEARS.”

Having faith doesn’t mean that we will never be afraid; it simply means that we know who to turn to when we are.

Some Christians don’t know what to do with fear. Because of incorrect teaching, they think something is wrong with them whenever they feel afraid. So instead of dealing with the emotion, they condemn themselves for their lack of faith and become more vulnerable.

As we saw yesterday, King David – a man of war and a giant slayer – was sometimes afraid. But his fear subsided when he turned his eyes towards the Lord.

As you can see from today’s passage, the Lord can deliver you from ALL your fears. It does NOT say that you won’t have any fears; after all, God created us with the ability to feel the emotion in the first place. Feeling afraid is no reason to condemn yourself. But no matter what the cause – you must understand that you don’t have to remain afraid – God can deliver you FROM ALL OF YOUR FEARS.

Fear reminds me of how much I need God. It isn’t a pleasant emotion, but it serves as a sign to draw closer to the Almighty.

Feeling afraid now and then is human. It’s being paralysed by fear that is not OK.

Be like King David who “SOUGHT THE LORD.” The Hebrew word translated ‘sought’ means ‘to frequent, to seek, to ask, to worship.’ It’s frequently drawing near to God to seek Him and worship Him in times of trouble.

Drawing close to God helped silence David’s fears. So, the next time you’re afraid, don’t condemn yourself, just let your fear inspire you to draw closer to the Lord.

Have a wonderful day. God bless and lots’a love,

Warren.
