SEALED BY THE SPIRIT
Ephesians 1:13–14 “When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of His glory.”
When you put your faith in Christ, something incredible happened—God placed His mark upon you. You were sealed with the Holy Spirit, God’s own presence living within you. In ancient times, a seal represented ownership, authenticity, and security. A king’s seal meant something was official and protected under his authority. In the same way, God’s seal on your life declares: You belong to Me.
The Holy Spirit is also called a “deposit,” a down payment guaranteeing that God will complete what He began. Just as a deposit confirms a future purchase, the Spirit within us assures us of our eternal inheritance—life with God forever. What God has started, He will finish.
This truth gives us confidence and peace. Even when life feels uncertain, or our faith feels weak, the Holy Spirit reminds us that our salvation is secure. We are marked, kept, and guided by the Spirit until the day of full redemption. And all of this, Paul says, is “to the praise of His glory.” Our lives—sealed and sustained by the Spirit—bring glory to the One who redeemed us.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for sealing me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You that I belong to You and that my future is secure in Christ. Help me to walk daily in the assurance and power of the Spirit who lives within me. To the praise of Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a fabulous day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
