Samoa’s Community Cases Hits 111

19 March 2022 Apia Samoa. Samoa’s total active cases as of 2pm Saturday 18 March is 111. This is according to a statement issued by the Government just before 2am this morning.

In addition to the 45 cases previously reported, a total of 51 positive cases were registered on Saturday 18 March. Of the new positive cases – 50 were in Upolu, with the Big Island of Savaii registering its first community case.

“Total active cases now stand at 111 with 110 cases confirmed in Upolu and 1 active case in Savaii.”

The statement confirms there are no active cases recorded for the islands of Manono and Apolima, as of the time of report.

Of the active cases, 22 are symptomatic and are being monitored at an isolation ward at Motootua National Hospital. The other 89 reported to be asymptomatic, are being held in various isolation sites.
