Samoa’s 60th Independence Logo and Theme are the Registered Property of Government

Samoa’s 60th Independence Preparation Committee have issued a notice to advise the public that the Independence Logo and Theme are the property of the Government of Samoa and is a registered trademark with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour.

The public and business community who may want to use the logo and theme for commercial or promotional purposes are asked to apply for licenses from the Ministry of Finance.

The charges are listed as $300 tala for individuals and $500 for clubs and societies.  For businesses, the charge is $2,500 for sole traders and $5,000 for local companies. International companies are to pay $5,000 in their currency.

The public are asked to submit application forms to the Ministry of Finance.

“Unauthorised use of the logo and theme will be subject to a fine and/or penalties as stipulated in the Copyright Act 1994 and related law.”
