The Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (SASNOC) are proud to announce Samoa Weightlifting Federation’s official status as the overall Oceania Online League Champions for 2021.

Samoa Weightlifting has reached this important milestone ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, taking out the overall championship trophy for both the men and women’s divisions.
Samoa’s place in the region is a reflection of the ongoing commitment and leadership of Samoa Weightlifting Federation President Tuaopepe Asiata Jeremy Wallwork.
SASNOC’s incoming President Pauga Tala Pauga commended SWF and said it was a great way for him to start his tenure as President.
“We salute and acknowledge the dedication and hard work by our weightlifters and the President in their continued success, not only in the Oceania region, but on the world stage;
“This achievement bears witness to the consistent high level of performance by Samoa’s Weightlifting Federation in the region, as a dominant player”.
A ceremony was held at the SASNOC Samoa conference room at Tuanaimato for the official hand over of the championship trophy.
Samoa’s qualified weightlifters for the Olympics 2020; Vaipava Nevo Ioane, Don Opeloge and Iuniarra Sipaia were disheartened to not take part in the Olympic Games due to the coronavirus pandemic restrictions and health risks that led to a Government decision they would not attend.
The Samoa Weightlifting Federation acknowledged the valued support of its sponsors and partners such as Pure Pacific Water, Samoa Paints, the Government of Samoa and SASNOC.
