The Samoa Royal Police Band have won the Fan Favourite Award🏆at the inaugural Pacific Police Tattoo 2025 competition held in Papua New Guinea this week.
The event hosted by the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary as part of the country’s golden jubilee celebrations, was supported by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
Bringing together 9 bands from 8 countries and over 100 musicians; the Tattoo showcased police force discipline, commitment and history.
AFP Commissioner Reece Kershaw said the Tattoo and Pacific Policing Forum provided an opportunity to strengthen law enforcement co-ordination throug the Pacific Policing Initiative (PPI).
“The Pacific has unique policing priorities and we are stronger when we work together to ensure the safety and security of everyone in our communities,” Commissioner Kershaw said.
“The Pacific Police Band Tattoo provides an opportunity to take a moment to celebrate tradition and music with the public and acknowledge the growing strength of our cooperation..
“In less than a year, the region’s police agencies have worked together to take the PPI from a concept to reality. With all three PPI pillars now in operation, we’re building on our commitment to enhance our collective security and law enforcement cooperation across the Pacific.”
All participating Police Bands had assembled in Brisbane, hosted at AFP’s Pinkenba hub ahead of the Pacific Police Tattoo in Papua New Guinea.
“This was an opportunity for further collaboration and exchange amongst the Pacific Police family.”
Samoa Police offered congratulations to the Royal Tonga Police Band for winning the inaugural acific Police Tattoo 2025.
“We’re proud to represent Samoa on this international stage and showcase the spirit of policing in the Pacific.”
Police Commissioners from across the Pacific were in PNG for the Pacific Policing Forum held prior to the Pacific Tattoo event.
Heads of Pacific Police examined critical law-and-order issues confronting the region at its annual Forum.
