A Samoan police inspector departed on Saturday to spend three months with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the state of Virgina.

Inspector Solomona Natia has served the police force for over 20 years. Also a qualified lawyer, Natia was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Samoa earlier this year.

Deputy Police Commissioner Papalii Monalisa Tiai-Keti says these are important opportunities for members of the Samoa police service, especially in the area of national security which has become increasingly important for Samoa and the Pacific.

Natia’s training is also timely for Samoa’s hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting meetingĀ  in Apia next year – CHOGM 2024.

According to Papalii the training will be held for three months in Quantico, Virginia, and is scheduled to begin in April.

“Inspector Solomona Natia will be bringing back knowledge and skills to share with other members of SPPCS,” added Papalii.
