Samoa Labour Party Registers with OEC ahead of Samoa’s General Elections

A 6th political party has been registered with the Office of the Electoral Commission (OEC) ahead of Samoa’s general elections now confirmed for 29 August 2025.

The Samoa Labour Party was registered as an Incorporated Society with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour on 14 May 2025, and on Friday 6th June, was formally registered with the OEC.

MCIL records lists the President of SLP as  former HRPP Minister for Justice and Courts Administration, Faaolesa Katopau Ainuu, who has made known his intention to contest the seat for his constituency of Vaimauga 4, currently held by Faualo Lefau Harry Schuster.

The Secretary for Samoa Labour Party is listed as former HRPP candidate for the 2021 elections, Su’a Tanielu Su’a and the SLC Treasurer is former Associate Minister of Justice, Sooalo F Mene.
