The Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority (SFESA) have today announced their very own counseling team.

Two members of SFESA graduated this week with Diplomas in Counselling from the Australian Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) in a ceremony that was held at the NUS gymnasium, Lepapaigalagala campus.

First responders, Senior Station Officer (SSO), Sola Malele and Station Officer (SO) David Masoe each received a Diploma of Counselling.

“They have showed commitment and hard work to overtake months of studies, even through the Covid-19 Response Operations;” reads the Authority’s congratulatoey note.

“Their qualifications will contribute widely to the welfare of first responders in the service”.

Fire Commissioner Tanuvasa Petone Mauga offered his congratulations and stressed the importance of counselling in the Authority’s line of work.

“As first responders our officers often see and experience the gruesome severity of accidents. Having our own counselling team allows us to offer that service to the public and for our own team members,” he added.

“We are proud of our officers’ achievements today.”

The Commissioner said SFESA offers congratulations and regards to all other APTC graduates.
