Ministry Situational Report from 2:00pm 10th May to 2:00pm 12th May 2022. The Ministry of Health confirmed 358 new community cases and six (6) patients currently in managed isolation at Moto’otua Hospital within the period commencing from 2:00pm 10th May to 2:00pm 12th May 2022.

There were no deaths reported during this period. The death toll remains at 24. The total number of cases for Samoa, border and community, is at 11,671.

The Ministry has called on all those who have tested positive through self-testing at home to please make contact and let the Ministry know so that data can be updated.

The Ministry continues to urge members of the public health  to take heed of health advice such as wearing facial masks, maintaining social distance, and washing their hands to maintain good personal hygiene. These simple steps will help contain the spread of the virus.

Many are now seen relaxing on the health advisories, walking around in public without masks. Some stores and supermarkets are also no longer making it mandatory to wear masks.

The public is urged once again, especially those who have not completed their vaccination, or a booster dose, to please do so.

“Vaccination remains our best defense against the virus. Keeping our aiga and loved ones safe is everyone’s responsibility”.
