Apia, Samoa 30th May 2022. The Ministry of Health has issued a latest report from 24th to 26th May 2022, confirmed 235 new COVID-19 positive cases, 228 new community cases and 7 new imported cases, taking the total number of cases to 13,380. Currently, there are five (5) patients in managed isolation at Moto’otua Hospital.

The Ministry also adhering to public health measures such as wearing a mask, maintaining social distance, and washing of hands, are important in maintaining good hygiene and in containing community transmission.

“Vaccination remains our best defense against severe effects of the virus.”

The Ministry advises the public to please visit the nearest hospital if you have not yet done your first or second dose, as well as a booster.

“Please stay home and self-isolate if symptoms develop, and get tested. Keeping our families and loved ones safe is everyone’s responsibility.”

The sites include all facilities, private clinics, testing sites and self -reporting, the death counts is subject to change following full verification of all reported Covid-19 deaths from all health facilities.
