The Government of Samoa through the Ministry of Health supported by the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) is continuing its ‘Door to Door Mass Vaccination
Campaign’ efforts this week in response to the Global COVID-19 Pandemic.
As of 16 August 2021, 81,672 (43,536 male | 38,136 female) have been vaccinated for their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Last week, Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa also reiterated at a press conference the Cabinet’s support for the Mass Vaccination Campaign that’s currently underway, and encouraged the people of
Samoa to use this opportunity well.
“When we started the vaccinations program, this program was rolled out in different areas of the country,
but now the Ministry has determined and with full support from Cabinet, that our response to COVID-19 and ensuring the highest possible rate of vaccination and protection for our country and the Door to Door
practice is one that we know very well from our experience with the Measles and how impactful that was in our response to the Measles Epidemic, and I want to encourage our people to take up this opportunity that has been rolled out and have made it easier for population to receive and access COVID injections that we do take up this new program that has been introduced.”
The Vaccination Fixed sites as well as District Hospitals are also available for the general public to visit for their first or second AstraZeneca vaccinations.
