Samoa Celebrates National Youth Week

The Ministry of Women,  Community and Social Development (MWCSD) hosted over 100 young people at Tooa Salamasina hall yesterday for the official opening of Samoa’s National Youth Week 2019.

The theme for this years’ Youth Week is: “Transforming Education”.

The Associate Minister of MWCSD Salausa John Ah Ching was present along with UN Agencies, and members of of the private and public sectors.

CEO Afamasaga Faaiuga Mulitalo presents on Youth Development Programmes of the Ministry.

The Ministry’s CEO Afamasaga Faauiga Mulitalo thanked those who came to support this national initiative, “Faafetai tele lava to our Honourable guests and facilitators, valued partners, donors, sponsors and the ever committed members of our communities and proactive participants”.

Partners and Stakeholders help celebrate National Youth Day

Programs will continue throughout the week in Manono Island and Savaii.

In line with the theme and to commemorate the International Youth Day and National Youth week,  the ONE UN YEP programme rolled out sessions to “Transform Education” through plenaries on two topics.

(i) Transforming Education through Arts and Crafts to improve accessibility and inclusiveness; and

(ii) Transforming Accessibility and inclusiveness of Education through ICT.
