In his powerful opening remarks, Minister Moefaauouo acknowledged Malaysia’s hospitality and the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat, stating:
“The future of the Commonwealth relies on the meaningful empowerment of its young people — not in words, but in action.”

The meeting focused on:
• Reviewing progress on the Marlborough House Commitments
• Assessing the Commonwealth Youth Programme (2024–2025)
• Endorsing the Commonwealth Strategic Plan 2025–2030

The Samoan delegation, including senior official Ana Leau Vaasa-Te’o, shared Samoa’s leadership model in youth empowerment, emphasising the importance of village-level engagement, inclusive policy design, and cultural identity as a foundation for participation.
Minister Moefaauouo reinforced Samoa’s commitment to meaningful youth engagement:

“As a Pacific nation, we bring the voices of young people from our villages, schools, and sports fields — and we are committed to seeing these voices shape policy,” he said.

“Our unity as a Commonwealth depends on our youth — their leadership, their creativity, and their courage.”

The CYMTF Meeting will be followed by the 5th Global Youth Work Conference (17–19 November), advancing youth leadership and professional development across the Commonwealth.
