After a week of disrupted service to Pago Pago due to severe weather conditions and two named cyclones over the Samoa Islands, flights to the Territory are due to resume its normal schedule today.
The first flight to American Samoa OL216 departed Faleolo International Airport at 9am this morning. The news is welcomed by several passengers who have been stranded at both ports due to the disrupted service.
American Samoa had made the call to shut down its airport several times over the past week and then again on Saturday, to brace the passing through of Cyclone Wasi.
Samoa Airways was able to resume two flights from Faleolo to Pago Pago yesterday afternoon and this morning report normal service for its customers between the two Samoa’s today.
