The Manu Samoa 7s continue their pre-season programme and have been reaching out to the local business community for support and assistance to resource the team’s preparations.
Head Coach Muliagatele Brian Lima, Assistant Coach Tausa Faamaoni Lalomilo, and Manager Tuala Leaega Pat Leota have been actively seeking support.
Renowned Businessesman Tuiaopo Andrew Ah Liki was one such business approached by the national team who did not hesitate to donate.
Coaches Muliagatele Brian and his Assistant Tausa visited Tuiaopo’s office earlier this week to collect a cheque of $5000 tala for which they are extremely grateful.

The Manu Samoa 7s have been intensively training in the off season, including 5am starts at the Samoa Weightlifting Federation High Performance Unit in Tuanaimato with Tuaopepe Jerry Wallwork.

The Manu Samoa 7s held trails over two days at Apia Park stadium on 12-13 October 2023. It is expected that two teams shall be named from Muliagatele’s extended squad of just over 30 players.
One team will attend the Oceania Rugby 7s Championship hosted by Queensland Rugby Union at Ballymore 10-12 November 2023. The tournament will double as an Olympic Qualifier. Samoa has not yet been able to participate in the Olympics since Rugby 7s became part of the Games.
The second Manu Samoa 7s team will travel to Solomon Islands as part of Team Samoa for the Pacific Games. Samoa has never won a gold medal since Rugby 7s became a part of the Pacific Games.
