FAST Party Chair Laaulialemalietoa maintains his innocense and says the truth shall prevail.
Today in Parliament, the FAST party set aside the rift between Fiame and Laauli, and joined together to vote in favour of keeping Fiame Noami Mataafa as Prime Minister.

The Constituion of Samoa
The Constitution of Samoa provides that the Prime Minister is appointed by the Head of State, as the member of the Legislative Assembly who enjoys the confidence of a majority in the Legislative Assembly (Article 32 (2) (a)). Ih Samoa’s Parliament of 53 members, the majority is represented by at least 27.

According to Samoa’s Constitution, if a vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister had been carried, the Prime Minister can then advise the Head of State to dissolve the Legislative Assembly, and return the country to hold general elections.
