A NEW WAY OF THINKING

Ephesians 4:17–18
“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.”

Paul speaks firmly because the issue is serious: the life we once lived—shaped by spiritual blindness, empty thinking, and hardened hearts—is no longer who we are. Before Christ opened our eyes, we were separated from the life of God, unaware of our own spiritual condition. Our thinking was darkened, and our direction was shaped by a world that doesn’t know Him.

But in Christ, everything changes. Salvation doesn’t just rescue us from sin; it kick-starts a journey with God that renews our minds and transforms how we see life, truth, purpose, relationships, and eternity.

We are called to leave behind the emptiness of worldly thinking and embrace the clarity, wisdom, and life that flow from God’s Word and His Spirit.

Followers of Jesus aren’t guests in the kingdom—we are new creations—sons and daughters of God. We now walk in the light He has given us. The world’s thinking leads to confusion, frustration, and spiritual darkness, but Christ leads us into truth, peace, and life.

The Christian life is a daily choice to reject the old ways and step fully into the new.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for opening my eyes and bringing me into the life of Christ. Renew my mind each day. Help me turn from old patterns of thinking and walk in the truth and wisdom of Your Word. Keep my heart soft, my mind clear, and my life centred on You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Have a wonderful day. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
