Real Friendships Take Time, Empathy, Honesty, Commitment And Loyalty

Happy Thursday Saints.

Yesterday, we ended with the thought of building strong, authentic and genuine friendships.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE, BECAUSE THEY HAVE A GOOD RETURN FOR THEIR LABOUR: IF EITHER OF THEM FALLS DOWN, ONE CAN HELP THE OTHER UP. BUT PITY ANYONE WHO FALLS AND HAS NO ONE TO HELP THEM UP.”

Right from the beginning, the Lord said, “IT IS NOT GOOD FOR MAN TO BE ALONE.” And this was before the fall. So, we were created to have healthy relationships with others.

Two are better than one. You are not better off being by yourself. 1Corinthians 12:21 says that “THE EYE CANNOT SAY TO THE HAND, ‘I DON’T NEED YOU.'”

Those who have an ‘I-don’t-need-friends’ kind of attitude are only deceiving themselves. They will “FALL DOWN,” as many of us do – with “NO ONE TO HELP THEM UP.”

With all the friends that one could have on Social Media, an epidemic of loneliness clearly reveals that we need more than a simple online connection.

There is no substitute for meeting friends and family in person. Their physical presence is significantly more comforting and reassuring than their online counterparts.

Friendships are strengthened through shared experiences like going to the beach, playing games, training together, attending church, or sharing a meal, to name a few.

And they’re fortified by going through trials together, suffering together and navigating through life’s countless challenges together.

Real friendships take time, patience, empathy, honesty, commitment, and loyalty. Things that many are unwilling to invest in their relationships with others.

You need good friends. Ones that’ll draw the best out of you and help you achieve great things for God.

Have a fantastic day.
God bless, and lots’a love,
Warren
