STRENGTH AND GENEROSITY
Proverbs 31:20 “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.”
The noble woman is strong, but her strength isn’t held back or reserved for her own selfishness—it’s poured out in love. She isn’t blind to the needs around her; her eyes are open and her heart is soft. Her compassion compels her to action, and she willingly extends her hands to help.
This verse reminds us that true strength isn’t proven by how much we can achieve for ourselves, but by how much we are willing to give for others. God blesses us with resources, time, and ability—not so we can cling to them, but so we can be a blessing.
Generosity isn’t about the size of the gift, but the spirit behind it. Even a small act of kindness, given in love, can echo in eternity.
Our Saviour Himself lived this way. Jesus, who was rich, became poor for our sake, so that through His poverty we might become rich. To reflect His heart is to live with open hands—ready to give, ready to serve, ready to love.
Prayer:
Father, open my eyes to the needs around me. Keep me from selfishness, and teach me to live with open hands. Use me as an instrument of Your generosity so others may experience Your love through my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
