The New Year has started in tragedy for the family of a 47-year-old male, reported by police to have been killed in an incident that occurred on Monday night 2nd January 2023.
Samoa Police have confirmed a homicide investigation has been launched and a 21-year-old male has been brought in for questioning.
“Police are continuing, investigation and we ask for the public’s patience as we get all the facts on the matter,” states a SPPCS release.
Last week the Samoa Police arrested and charged a 20-year-old male with murder in relation to a homicide that occurred in the early hours of Chritmas Day Sunday. In that incident a 28-year-old male was killed.
In another festive season homicide, a former police officer has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a police woman in the early hours of Saturday morning 24th December. The incident was one of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).
“Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services continue to advise the public to keep safe,” reads a police media statement.
“Your safety is our priority!”
