27 June 2019, Apia Samoa. Bluesky in partnership with the Samoa Water Authority have launched an additional service on Bluesky’s M-Tala platform, which aims to increase the accessibility of locals to make bill payments towards their water bill.
The public can now use a convenient secure way to pay their water bill from their Bluesky Mobile Phone.
“Today, we’re proud to announce a benefit of our partnership with Samoa Water Authority – where customers can now conveniently pay their water bill from the comfort of their own homes, without the need of smart phones or data.” Says Toleafoa Douglas Creevey, CEO Bluesky Samoa.
The launch of this new Water Bill Pay service via M-Tala is a big step towards making it easier for every household in Samoa to pay their Water Bill. How this works using M-Tala is simple.
- Customer dials *175# from their Bluesky Mobile Phone to access the M-Tala USSD Menu.Customer selects Option 2 for Payment & Utilities.
- Customer Enters their SWA Account Number.
- Followed by entering in the required amount to pay.
Their payment is then sent and processed in real time with SWA,with no fees for SWA customers.

This new service with Samoa Water Authority was designed with our every day Samoans in mind who do not own credit or debit cards and especially those who live in rural villages. As part of Bluesky and Samoa Water Authority’s newly launched Water Bill Pay Service, Bluesky are rewarding the first 100 customers who pay their SWA Water bill using M-Tala (only) by reimbursing up to $100 tala via their M-Tala accounts. This promotional offer is only valid from the 27th of June to the 27th of July.
How do customers get this great initiative? Samoa Water Authority customers will need to own an active Bluesky Sim Card and be registered on M-Tala which can be done for free upon providing their Photo ID at any Bluesky Retail stores.
