And as long we keep comparing ourselves to others, we will never be content or at peace

Happy Friday Saints.

Yesterday, I mentioned the fact that “Your calling isn’t a race against other Christians.”

Ecclesiastes 4:4 says, “THEN I OBSERVED THAT MOST PEOPLE ARE MOTIVATED TO SUCCESS BECAUSE THEY ENVY THEIR NEIGHBORS. BUT THIS, TOO, IS MEANINGLESS – LIKE CHASING THE WIND.”

Envy and jealousy are poor motivations to excel and succeed in life. And as long we keep comparing ourselves to others, we will never be content or at peace.

The Bible tells us to rejoice with those who rejoice. We should learn to celebrate other people’s successes. And their success doesn’t minimise your own accomplishments or take anything away from your own journey with the Lord.

Our relationship with God must be the motivation for all our endeavours, and our satisfaction should come from pleasing Him.

Galatians 6:4 says to”PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO YOUR OWN WORK, FOR THEN YOU WILL GET THE SATISFACTION OF A JOB WELL DONE, AND YOU WON’T NEED TO COMPARE YOURSELF TO SOMEONE ELSE.”

No matter where you’re at with your journey with the Lord or what stage you are in with regards to what He has called you to do – there will always be those who are ahead of you and others who are behind. What really matters is your obedience to God and your diligence to what He has put in your heart to do.

Get your satisfaction from being faithful to the Lord and PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR OWN WORK. Other Christians are not your competition – they have their own race to run and their own callings to fulfil. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Have a wonderful weekend. God bless and lots’a love,

Warren

P.S. God hasn’t given up on you, and He isn’t done with you yet – He who started a good work in you will see it through to completion.
