Pacific Forum Line Foundation Donates to SVSG

A donation of ST20,000 was presented this week by the Agency Manager of the Pacific Forum Line, Mrs. Teuila Eteuati, to the President of the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG).

The donation is part of the ongoing financial contribution from the Pacific Forum Line Foundation towards its partnership with the SVSG since 2019.

Speaking on behalf of the PFL Foundation during the donation presentation, Mrs. Eteuati relayed, the Board of Directors’ appreciation of the support services provided by SVSG for the vulnerable population in Samoa.

The financial support from the partnership have assisted SVSG to cater not only for the well being, rehabilitation and educational support for the abused children under the Group’s shelter care, but also the vulnerable children in the community, such as the educational needs of the child vendors being removed from the streets for main stream education.

According to the SVSG President, “from the beginning, we had envisioned that the partnership with the PFL Foundation will impact the lives of the most vulnerable population that we serve.

The partnership also builds on the corporate responsibilities of the PFL staff through their volunteer work at the Campus of Hope shelter facility, cleaning, painting and carrying out minor repairs.”

“With the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the socio-economic lives of the vulnerable members of our community, the partnership with PFL Foundation is welcoming given the current challenge faced by SVSG to maintain its services, to meet the growing demand from our people.” Siliniu Lina Chang
