Happy Tuesday Saints.
Psalm 51:6 “BEHOLD, YOU DESIRE TRUTH IN THE INWARD PARTS, AND IN THE HIDDEN PART YOU WILL MAKE ME TO KNOW WISDOM.”
As we saw yesterday, the wisdom of the prudent is “TO UNDERSTAND HIS WAY.” We limit our chances of success when we aren’t paying attention to the way we are living.
My Aunty Cha says it can be difficult for us to follow God “if we are inattentive or lazy.”
I like that. It speaks more about our negligence than it does about our ignorance. For some of us, it’s not about being unaware of our weaknesses; it’s about neglecting them and being too lazy to acknowledge them and do something about them.
Some of us are very aware of what’s holding us back. Aunty Cha’s words are caring and motherly, and they encourage all of us to take action.
Our progress and spiritual maturity require us to be brutally honest with ourselves. It’s the “TRUTH IN THE INWARDS PARTS” and the acknowledgment of our actual state of mind and heart that will help us in this life. We must expose our whole being to the light of God’s Word and reveal our true selves to God in prayer if we are going to “GAIN WISDOM” in the “HIDDEN PART.”
The CSB version of Psalm 51:6 says, “SURELY YOU DESIRE INTEGRITY IN THE INNER SELF, AND YOU TEACH ME WISDOM DEEP WITHIN.”
True self-discernment starts with the inner self. It produces positive changes that are more significant than external religious methods.
If you want to see long-lasting, permanent changes in your life, you will have to deal with your “INNER SELF” – the “HIDDEN PART” of you that no one else sees.
Open your heart to God and let Him fill you with light and understanding that will give you WISDOM DEEP WITHIN.
