(GOVERNMENT PRESS SECRETARIAT) – Cabinet today confirmed the three year appointment of Professor Aiono Dr. Alec Ekeroma as Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Health
Dr Ekeroma has been the Vice Chancellor of the National University of Samoa for the past three years. In July 2021 the National University of Samoa announced his reappointment as Honorary Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Women’s Health until February 2024.
Dr. Ekeroma holds a PHD in Building Health Research and Capacity of Clinicians from University of Auckland complemented MBA Health Management and Planning from Keele University, United Kingdom, England.
He also graduated from the University of Auckland with a Diploma in Obs, Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He has served in various capacities in the areas of Health Care since 1986 and is also the owner and operator of Alec’s Hotel and private medical clinic at Motootua.
