The NRL Coach of the Year Craig Bellamy has had to come out and publicly deny the strangest fake news report published and then later pulled by Australia’s Fox Sports.
FoxSports.com.au came out of nowhere and reported an “exclusive” claiming that Melbourne Storm Head Coach Craig Bellamy had approached the Samoa Rugby League proposing that he could improve the fortunes of the side if he were able to bring in his own staff and methods.
Storm came out and publicly denied the reports and Samoa Rugby League President Sua Tagaloa Faafouina Sua is also confused having never received such communication from Bellamy.
The FoxSports report was both irresponsible and unsubstantiated, going on to claim that Bellamy’s proposal did not sit well with Samoa authorities who stuck loyal to current Coach Matt Parrish.
The Samoa Rugby League President says this is the last kind of destraction the Toa Samoa needs as they head into the World 9s this weekend.
Samoa suit up for the World 9’s this weekend with Toa Samoa in Pool C with Fiji, Tonga and Cook Islands.
