No1Currency is rallying support for Samoa athletes with their launch of a multi-faceted program to boost morale for locals representing Samoa and to promote awareness of the games.

The Launch was held at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel with Hon. Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, Loau Keneti Sio, Fexco Ltd Chairman, Alistair Hutchison, and Pacific Games, CEO Falefata Hele Matatia in attendance.

No1 Currency is the currency exchange brand of Fexco Pacific Ltd who is a silver sponsor of the 2019 Pacific Games. In addition to their sponsorship, General Manager of Fexco Samoa, Molioo Pio Molioo said in a statement that their campaign is an extended hand of partnership where they are connecting business and community stakeholders to rally behind the program.

“This sponsorship is a call to action for the business houses and corporates in Samoa, to highlight how the Pacific Games is a pivotal event that celebrates the best in sports from all our Pacific Island countries” said Molioo.

The theme of the support campaign is “Celebrating the Best in the Pacific” and Group manager for Marketing and Business Development of Fexco Pacific, Steve Peregrino said during the launch on Thursday evening that this is in line with their No1Currency’s company vision to honour the pursuit of excellence.

“Our campaign is about celebrating the best and this is consistent with our brand anyway.” Said Peregrino. “Unlike the usual sponsorship, we said that in addition to a monetary donation we wanted to be a very involved sponsor and partner. We want to do our fair bit to drive awareness of the Games-not only in Samoa but across the Pacific.”

To engage the community in the campaign, all No1Currency locations will be open to everyone to come in and write messages of support on No1Currency message cards. Their photos and messages will be posted on social media to encourage widespread support.

“Before and during the games, we will be encouraging people to boost the morale of the athletes by writing up their messages on our cards and we will be posting them on Facebook. Ideally we will have people “liking” and sharing them and hopefully it will become a movement of people that encourage the athletes to push for their best”

Their regional campaign will see a retail network of No1Currency across the key markets in the Pacific promote awareness of the Games with creative merchandising of its locations. In addition a $3,000 WST cash lottery promotion and raffle for 100 free tickets to the Games will also be on offer for all customers who transact between April 1st and June 15th.

Owned by the Hutchison family, Fexco Pacific is a subsidiary of Fexco and Federal Pacific that focus on money transfer, money exchange and business payments.

They have operations and are fully licenced in 12 countries – New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, American Samoa, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, East Timor, Kiribati, and New Caledonia.
