Defense counsel Masoe Charlie Vaai did not submit a bail application for a young man facing charges of sexual violation towards a young girl.
Janu Junior Masoe appeared in Court via video link from Tanumalala prison where he has been in custody since his arrest.
The defendant has previously appeared in Court for multiple previous sexual related offenses towards girls.
Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke did not waste time, deciding on the matter expeditiously during criminal mentions.
“Your Counsel will not provide a bail application due to the fact that you have many other similar offendings in the past, therefore, you will remain in custody until the 1st of February 2021 for hearing.”
The defendant has pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent acts on a young girl.
A week has yet to go by in Samoa, without a case of sexual offending towards young girls being brought before the Supreme Court during criminal mentions.
