NBS Supports Samoa Weightlifting for Upcoming Oceania Championships and Elite Training Camp

The Weightlifting Federation received $10,000 from NBS to assist with their preparations for the two back-to-back international events, which are to be held in Samoa in the upcoming weeks.

The CEO of NBS, Papalii Samuel Swan, presented the donation to the President of Samoa Weightlifting, Tuaopepe Asiata Jerry Wallwork, and expressed how excited NBS is to support them on their journey.

“It has always been a joy to witness the high levels of achievement by the Samoa Weightlifting Team at the many tournaments they have participated in.”

“There’s travel costs such as airfares and accommodation and I sympathise with the Samoa Weightlifting Federation..”

NBS has decided to step in and help the Samoa Weightlifting Team.

“The National Bank of Samoa is excited to come on board as a sponsor, and offer our support to Tuaopepe and the country’s weightlifting team.” says Papalii.

The President of the Samoa Weightlifting Federation thanked the National Bank of Samoa for their support saying he hopes the partnership will continue into the future.

Tuapopepe added, “The Samoa Weightlifting Team Motto is ‘GO FOR GOLD’, and this partnership makes the National Bank of Samoa – The Golden Bank!”

The Samoa Weightlifting Federation is preparing to host the Pacific Elite Training Camp at their High Performance Unit at Tuanaimato, from the 28 September – 4 October.

The Federation is also gearing up for the Oceania Youth, Junior and Under 23 Weightlifting Championship to be held in Samoa, on the 5th – 7th October 2023.
