A father is thanking the angels assigned to him and his family after escaping unharmed when their pick-up truck swerved off the road and overturned from the impact with a brick fence on Sunday evening at Ululoloa.

Tui was driving with his brother-in-law in the front seat, and his two daughters in their 20s in the back seat.
He had instinctively swerved off the road to avoid a head-on collision with a small sedan being driven by an elderly woman, heading directly towards them.
The truck overturned from the impact – but all four of them in the car miraculously escaped unharmed, walking out of the wreckage without a scratch.
The ambulance team took the two girls to hospital for observation and have since been cleared.
Tui’s elderly mother, Toafā told SGN she had warned against the two girls sitting at the back of the truck.
“Sa ou vili mai lava e ave teneiti i totonu ona ua pogisa, e leiloa mea e tutupu.. Ou te faafetai i Le Alii mo lana puipuiga i si a’u fanau..”
The family were returning home from a toanai at Lefaga, and two other vehicles of family members had been behind the pick-up truck.
Witnesses at the scene said the driver of the small sedan had deto overtake when it was unsafe to do so, just past the Craig Compound at Ululoloa.

“The pick-up swerved to avoid hitting that sedan,” said a witness pointing towards the side of the road where two elderly ladies sat on chairs next to their sedan.
The neighboring family had brought out chairs for them and they were waiting for the police to complete their investigations.

“They are so lucky the driver of the pick-up truck swerved to avoid them.. they would not be sitting there right now,” said the witness.
