This morning, Monday 9 June 2025, the ‘Ava o le Feiloa‘iga (traditional ‘ava ceremony) was held to formally welcome the Honourable Judges of the Court of Appeal of Samoa — Hon. Justice Rhys Harrison, Hon. Justice Raynor Asher, and Hon. Justice William Young from New Zealand.

The ‘Ava o le Feiloa‘iga is a traditional and respectful ceremony hosted by the Honourable Chief Justice, Satiu Simativa Perese, and the Samoa Judiciary to officially welcome the Judges of the Court of Appeal before the commencement of court proceedings, which begin today and will continue for the next two weeks.
Also in attendance were the Registrar of the Court, Papalii John Taimalelagi Afele, and court staff who facilitated the ceremony.

Best wishes to the Court of Appeal as it sits this week and next.
