“THE WORDS OF THE RECKLESS PIERCE LIKE SWORDS, BUT THE TONGUE OF THE WISE BRINGS HEALING.”
Happy Monday Saints.
If there is one thing that we cannot afford to be careless and reckless with, it’s our words.
Too many speak without giving much thought to what they are saying.
Instead of being “SLOW TO SPEAK,” we swing away and pierce those who are close to us, cutting them down with our irresponsibly spoken words.
Psalm 50:19 says “YOU UNLEASH YOUR MOUTH FOR EVIL.”
Parents recklessly speak misfortune over their children. Leaders carelessly speak destruction over those they are responsible for. God’s own people hastily speak trouble and failure over their own lives.
We are piercing ourselves through with a lot of suffering because we don’t appreciate the power and the value of our words.
Proverbs 18:21 says that “DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE.”
When was the last time you seriously stopped to consider carefully your words before a single utterance?
Sometimes, it’s OK to say nothing at all. Proverbs 10:19 says “TOO MUCH TALK LEADS TO SIN, BE SENSIBLE AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.”
This is a good week to be sensible. Don’t be reckless with your words. Choose them carefully and communicate life to those who are listening.
God bless and lots’a love,
