The work of grassroots development by the newly established Marist Rugby Club has come to fruition with the naming of six of its youngsters in the Junior Manu Samoa.

“Proud Moment for the Green & White!” the club have posted on their socials after the Lakapi Samoa naming of the traveling squad to represent Samoa in upcoming campaigns.

“Massive congratulations to our very own rising talents — Faletui Fifita, Maika Manu Sasagi, Paul Masoe, Jerome Tauiliili, Talalasi Gosche, and Vaaiva Wulf — on their well-deserved selection to Junior Manu Samoa!’

“Your hard work, dedication, and passion for the game have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder to see you represent not just our club, but our nation on the international stage.”

“Keep flying the flag high and continue to inspire the next generation.”

The Marist Rugby Club formed in 2024 with the aim to focus primarily on Rugby development for both boys and girls.

Club President and Head Coach Tapunu’uomanū Roger Warren commended the hard work of the six selected players, all of whom have been playing at Senior A level for the club.

“They all have a bright future ahead of them. We’ve been blessed with a good season making it to the final, so all six players have had quality playing time in both the Under 19s and the Senior A competition this past season.”

Over 50 players including those from New Zealand and Australia participated in the final trials at the HPU grounds on Tuesday afternoon.

The list of 38 final training squad is a mixture of locals and overseas based players.
