Press Release October 2023 Apia Samoa. Thanks to the generous support of some of Samoa’s leading businesses, Manu Samoa Sevens have been able to enjoy not one but two boot camps to prepare for the Oceania 7s and Pacific Games 7s campaigns.
Manu Samoa Sevens are in the final stages of selection and preparation for the Oceania Championships from 10 – 12 November 2023 in Brisbane, Australia and Pacific Games from 23 – 25 November 2023 to be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Head Coach Muliagatele Brian Lima and the Management reached out to Return to Paradise Resort and the Samoan Business community for support. And what amazing support they received, allowing the national extended squad of 32 players to attend two boot camps at Return to Paradise Resort – one last month and the second camp held this past week to coincide with two days of national 7’s trials held at Apia Park.
“We reached out to our local business community and the boot camp became possible, says Team Manager Tuala Leaega Pat Leota. “We are so grateful to those who got behind us.
The generous support was offered by Rowlen Financial Services, Samoa Commercial Bank, SMI Hardward, Western Union, Transam Samoa, CCK, Pacific Aluminium, and of course, Return to Paradise Resort” says Leota.
“With the help of these great companies, we were able to hold both camps at no cost to Lakapi Samoa. On behalf of Lakapi Samoa, we are just so grateful to them, and of course to Return to Paradise Resort.”
“Boot camps are needed to prepare our boys for international competition,” says Head Coach Lima. “This gives us a chance to build our team, our strategy, and to build team unity and align our team vision and purpose.”
“Once again our friends in the business community are our family at the Resort are proud to get behind Brian and our team,” said Resort General Manager Afamasaga Ramona Su’a Pale Gilchrist. “Our attitude and that of the business community that got behind them is that we will always stand behind our boys and do whatever we can to help build their success.”
