03 August 2020 Apia Samoa. The front door of the Samoa police headquarters was damaged by a rock over the weekend, that was thrown by a man believed to be living with a mental disability.
Samoa Global News and other media colleagues were at the Samoa Police Service main office headquarters in Apia on Monday morning, to seek information about the brutal beating of a young man seen on a facebook live video that was posted over the weekend.
While there, we witnessed the front door of the Samoa Police headquarters being replaced with a bullet-proof upgrade.

Police Commissioner Su’a Fuiavailiili Egon Keil was able to later confirm that the damage was caused by a rock that had been thrown through the glass doors.
“A male who appears homeless and possibly mentally ill was arrested from that incident”;
“He has been referred to the mental unit of our National Health Services for evaluation prior to charges being filed against him”.
The Commissioner added that the incident did not cause any harm or injury to police officers, or any member of the public.
