A man in his 20’s is fighting for his life at the Motootua National Hospital with injuries sustained from being hacked with a bushknife, after a drinking session at Faleasiu.
Responding to questions from Samoa Global News Police Commissioner Su’a Fuiavailiili Egon Keil says they responded to the incident on Sunday afternoon, and confirms that they have arrested and charged a man in his 40’s with attempted murder.
Su’a says the injuries were gruesome, with deep wounds inflicted on the victim’s legs, arms and head.

“Both men are from the same village and once again, it was a drinking session gone wrong, with locally brewed vodka being the alcohol of choice found at the scene of the crime”, said the Police Commissioner.
“It is very disheartening to see our communities get torn from the inside from this;
We are seeing school children drinking the stuff now to;
“Its easy to drink, cheap and accessible,” says the Police Commissioner.
