An earthquake of magnitude 6.7, at a depth of 10km and a distance of 24 kilometres from Hihifo, Niuas, Tonga was felt in Samoa at 10:23pm Thursday night.

The Samoa Met Office records the earthquake at 336.4 km southwest of Apia.

No tsunami warning was issued by the Samoa Met Services.

According to Earthquake Track, there has been one other earthquake in the area in the past 7 days, and six in the past 30 days.
