
A laptop that operates a mobile x-ray machine in the paediatric ward at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole TTM Hospital was stolen early hours of Saturday morning.
The machine is wheeled to wherever there is a need of a chest x-ray atound the ward.
The Police were alerted when the TTM hospital staff realised that the laptop was missing.
“The laptop is crucial for the care of sick children,” said Leituala Dr Ben Matalavea who took to facebook in frustration.
“The care our children need depends on this equipment,’ he adds.
A security guard told Samoa Global News that there has been a strict policy from State of Emergency Orders that only allows for one caretaker per patient.
Police say suspects are essentially everyone in that ward during the early hours of Saturday morning; family members who come as caretakers as well as TTM hospital staff.
