Lenatai Victor Faafoi Tamapua returns to Parliament for the fourth time with a landslide win to secure the Vaimauga 2 seat.
Lenatai is a veteran HRPP MP who has now won the Vaimauga 2 seat for the 4th consecutive election, representing the district as their preferred MP for almost 15 years.
After the preliminary count, Lenatai was 388 votes ahead of FAST party’s Tamaleta Taimang Jensen.
However, after the final count including pre-polling and special votes, Lenatai pulled ahead even further to leave a gap of 465 votes between himself and Tamaleta.
Lenatai was first elected to Parliament at the 2011 general election.
He was re-elected in 2016 and was appointed Associate Minister of Justice and Courts Administration, and later through a cabinet reshuffle, given the Associate Minister for Revenue.
Lenatai, who also holds the Fuimaono title from Falealili, had served as an HRPP opposition MP from 2021 – 2025.
