Philippians 4:8 “FIX YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT IS TRUE, AND HONOURABLE, AND RIGHT, AND PURE, AND LOVELY, AND ADMIRABLE. THINK ABOUT THINGS THAT ARE EXCELLENT AND WORTHY OF PRAISE.”
Everything that you have stored inside your heart started off as a thought.
One of the keys to guarding your heart is choosing what you FIX YOUR THOUGHTS ON.
If we are careless about what we let into our hearts, then careless and irresponsible words will come out of our mouths and cause a lot of damage.
Keeping a careful watch over your thought-life will help you store a lot of GOOD INSIDE YOUR HEART.
When something is more important and more valuable to you than guarding your heart and watching your thoughts, then disorder will FLOW FROM WITHIN YOU.
Good things flow from a good heart. And today’s passage reveals a great secret to getting your heart overflowing with God’s goodness. It says to FIX YOUR THOUGHTS on things that are EXCELLENT AND WORTHY OF PRAISE.
What have you been dwelling on lately? Are your thoughts TRUE, NOBLE, RIGHT, PURE, LOVELY and ADMIRABLE? Or are your thoughts impure, spiteful, cruel, unforgiving, painful, miserable or negative?
We ended yesterday with the thought of changing what’s within you so that the outside world will follow.
Any change that doesn’t start with a change of heart won’t last very long, so it’s always good to start there. And if you can change what you FIX YOUR THOUGHTS ON, you’ll change what is in your heart. And the issues that come flowing from your heart will be inspired by WHAT IS TRUE, HONOURABLE, RIGHT, PURE, LOVELY, ADMIRABLE, EXCELLENT AND PRAISEWORTHY.
So start filling your heart with good treasure so that an awesome life can start flowing from WITHIN YOU.
