The training initiative, funded and organized by JICA, is designed for officials engaged in the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies within government agencies and national Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs).

Participants received in-depth instruction on international cybersecurity laws and policies, drawing on practices from Japan and other countries, with the objective of enhancing their ability to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks in their respective nations.

As global dependence on the internet grows, international cybersecurity threats such as ransomware and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks have intensified, targeting critical government and private sector infrastructures worldwide.

These challenges have elevated cybersecurity to a critical priority in national defense and social security.

In response, Japan has actively bolstered international collaboration on cybersecurity through initiatives such as the ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Policy Meeting, established in 2009, to foster safer and more secure ICT environments.
